Product Discovery Interview Questions 2020

Handling product discovery interview questions is a bit tricky. But this sure leads to awesome results for your in-depth planning. This isn’t all about just the thought of asking. But rather, this should be objective.

This certainly takes more of a habit in business, but a healthy practice. Having the right amount of curiosity should help greatly.

So, how are you going to handle your product discovery interview questions?

Don’t Lose On The Why’s

After your consumer responds, do not be content with their initial answers. And then merely continue with the next ones on the list.

But rather, bring up the why’s.

  • Why do they feel that way?
  • And, why do they think it should be better the other way around?

Yes. Bringing up the why’s behind as a follow-up is powerful. This is where you get the juice out of the produce.

Furthermore, this adds more value to your products. Yes. your customer’s feedback and insights are your product’s biggest say.

Also, Take Their How’s In The Concept

The how’s are one of your biggest queries too. This is especially helpful in building your product’s features.

Taking their product feature’s preferences is a good idea. However, dig in more deeply by understanding ‘how they’re using the product’.

  • How do they find it useful?
  • What product features appeals more to their work?

This is absolutely effective in building your product roadmap.

Productivity Rate Is a Bomb

Remember, having a good product means having a good working buddy. The more your products, or most particularly, business products. Take the convenience meter of your customers on top. The more your product is more likely to succeed.

So, it is noteworthy to ask.

  • How does this product increase your productivity rate?
  • Also, how would you describe a productive experience with it?
  • In what aspects of your work do you find this product very useful?

This way, you can look behind the key features of the product. The ones that your market really needs. And, this is where you can innovate more. Enhancing their favorites, and therefore increasing the product’s value.

Learn From Their Differing Choices

It is realistic to say that not everyone will opt for your products. And a lot of competitors in the same field are out there. But, let this take you to a fresher perspective.

A good follow-up question should be:

  • Why do you opt for that kind of product?
  • What features of it do you find helpful?

This should help you build a better game for your product. Because you can always learn from others. This is apart from imitation. No, this should be a constructive comparison.

Let The Weak Points Come Out

A realistic product review should not be all about the customer’s favorites on your product. Rather, this should be a realistic reflection.

So, raise another open-ended question.

  • What features of this product do you dislike the most?
  • And, why do you think so?

This is helpful. Because if your product is not bringing real value to your customers. Then you can consider having adjustments, for instance.
